Funny headed Theo

Little Theo was born with sagittal craniosynostosis, or fused back plates of his skull. In the short term this was fine but as he got older his brain was going to grow more than his skull would be able to allow. Because of this and because kids bounce back earlier from surgeries, we elected to have a skull repair surgery done. After two all day meets with the doctors we finally had his surgery today!

(Dave has a cold hence his SARS impression). This is Theo right before the surgery as we wait - patient goose hadn't had anything to eat in over 4 hours and he was still his smiley wriggley self. Our good little boy sucked on a pacifier vigorously when he got hungry and finally wore himself out and slept, right before we handed him over. Calm happy child :)

He's in recovery now - the surgery was so quick they didn't have time to tell us it had begun. Now he just has a few days in the hospital to recover and then he's back home with his family. We can't wait!
