Fire Station Tour

Theo is all about the fire engines now, and the girls like them a lot too, so I scheduled us a tour of our local fire station. After a quick 3 mile bike ride (not pictured sadly) we got a personalized tour!

About to drive off with the fire engine....

Avy's more calm in the face of  many many dials.

Mom's enjoying this more than Lily is!

But not as much as Theo ;)

One of the wonderful firefighters who took the time to show us around.

That was a very heavy jacket.

And then back at home :)

Dan didn't get to go, but he hung out in the sun instead - happy pupper :)

Life slice

Dan is thoroughly integrated now - he joins us during reading time.

And TV time.

And yardwork time (less helpful though ;)

Lily so wants to be a big kid now, and insists on doing everything the big girls do, and then some. Here she is picking up dog poop (I couldn't dissuade her).

The girls are mending clothes and stuffed animals. This is now a thing they do regularly (see Momma's face? Momma's face is beaming - I don't have to do it any more!!!)

She made a sparkly sword. And then she became sparkly :)

Dan with video game time.

Dan being fed peanut butter (Lily wants to be his best friend, I swear)

Ellie reading to Lily

Dan and Ellie snuggling.

At the park, waiting for Daddy to join us.

A grand adventure!

We're trying to significantly decrease our car usage and so have been relying on bus and bike to get us places. This was our first solo bus trip and it was so successful we've done it twice since - it's actually a really great way to get into downtown Bellevue.

Avy about to take on the world!

Super sass! We were killing time waiting for the bus at a park.

Goof :)

Waiting for the bus!

On the bus... we're not sure. There are definitely some different people to watch, but we worked on being polite as well ("MOM! THAT LADY IS SLEEPING!" "Yes dear. Indoor voice please...")

Eating at the park.

At Kidsquest!

Eat a bite, run off. Run back, eat a bite, run off. Repeat 1,000 times.

There's this giant climbing structure in the middle of KQ, and Ellie has taught Avy and Theo how to reach the top. Today, it was Lily's turn.

The elation when she made it :)

Ellie is super patient - leads the kids all the way up, then guides them down, even to supporting their feet when they don't feel secure. She's a great teacher.

Theo was actually enjoying this, I swear ;)

After KQ we took my phone in to be fixed (there was a week there where I did not have a working phone - horrors!!) and then dashed off to make it to the bus with literally one minute to spare. It worked great :)
