Weekend Daddy fun

Catching some air.

Playing in a box

This looks unremarkable but they were actually trading kisses :)

Dave wanted to bike to the park. The weather had a different plan - hail!

I love the tutti-frutti skirt with camo jacket.

We've moved the girls' bedtime up to 8, so we have plenty of time for reading and activities between babies' and girls' bedtimes. This time: making rock candy as a science "smeariment"!

Fun days

The girls and I found a library book called "Fancy Day" which is all about dressing up, using your best manners and "fancy" words and holding a fancy party, and we decided to do one of our own. We're practicing our fancy manners now, and wearing our fancy dresses as much as humanly possible.

Took everyone to the community center to burn off some steam (almost every day this week actually, running the puppies is becoming ever more important).

There was a little table and after a bit Lily climbed up, turned to me and indicated she wanted a snack. So... they had snack at the little table. Perfect table manners.

Hula hooping.

Biking about like big kids!

"Mom, do yer joob!" The girls liked to line all the letters out in sequence then ask me what word that spelled. Then would tell me I was silly when I sounded it out ;)

Jessilee came to visit! We love Jessilee, she does airplane.

Lily was throwing blocks about so I asked her "Are you picking up blocks like a big helper? Thank you!" so she picked up all the blocks. That not being enough, she then picked up the ball and jacket.

What else to pick up, what else. Me!

Theo's a bruiser - just look at that forehead!

#stuffTheodoes

I came into the kitchen and Theo was standing on the table. I lifted him off and told him, "No Theo, no climbing on table."

He looks at me for a second, then walks straight to the timeout corner and stands there. Kiddo put himself in time out!

I was sitting in his bedroom and he comes trotting in looking mildly distressed but not crying. He grunts "ah! ah! Mama!" at me, then holds his hand out to me and waits. Hmm. I stand up and.... take his hand, since that seems to be what he wants. He leads me all the way to the couch in the living room, where a toy of his had fallen behind the couch.

The calmness with which he solved his problem was astounding. I want that!

#stuffAvysays

Avy: "Mom, is Nikki going to be here in 5 minutes?"
Me: "No dear."
Avy: "6 minutes?"
Me: "No dear."
Avy: "7 minutes? 8 minutes? 9 minutes?"
Me: "24 hours."
Avy: "Aww, I was just about to say that!"

More snow!

We had a surprise storm that, while only lasting 24 hours, totally reshaped our day (the girls just about lived outside).

Lily loves to draw now, if the girls leave their art supplies for even a moment she's up there.

Two inches is plenty for snow play.

And when it gets scant, rake it up!

Nice warm socks after - thanks Auntie Rachel!

The following day - more raking, and some nibbling as well. Ellie looks like a native with her rain boots and sweater.

This looks innocuous, but what happened was I opened the car, went back into the house to grab the diaper bag, and came back to find the babies had climbed into the car themselves and were settling themselves in. So I'm retiring soon....

Catching up

It's been a fun few weeks here. Nana Evers and Nana B visited for a week so while I had copious spare time for a change, I sadly got few pictures. Still, everyone had a blast (especially Momma!) and we were sorry to see them go.

Cantelope is the best.

If we fits, we ... squish all together and whine a bit.

Mmm sour cream.

After family left I hurt my back and spent some time on the couch not moving (we had a nanny come help out). The kids helped take care of me:

Momma's holding still, GET'ER!

Just...so gerber.

I love the hair especially.

All three girls have been big on hairbands/clips recently, so Theo insisted on joining them. Aw.
