Another one of those terrible days

Dunno what to tell you - life as a 2 year old is rough.

They discovered it was pouring rain ("Reining!!") so they grabbed their jackets and shoes and hustled outside (minimal help from me, I think I zipped the zippers and pulled out the shoe tongues). Good thing they like rain, given this state, all I have to say!

We then went to the Kids' Museum, no pictures but lots of videos on the youtube channel. The girls got hungry so we went outside in the court for our snacks, and spotted a waffle spot. The girls never having had waffles, we had to buy one. With sprinkles. It was a necessity. (Although at $5 a waffle, a necessity that won't be repeated - eek!)

They knew their market though and had a cute little table for the girls to eat at. Ellie is an Aldridge and preferred her grapes - Avy takes after me and devoured that waffle ;)

Home again! After nap we played with chalk outside but before the girls could get tired of it I brought out some boxes... oh boy, that just added hours to the fun.

Seriously. They did this until bedtime. What a great activity :)

Farm!

In one of our last sunny days (we're solidly into the cold'n wet weather now) the girls and I trekked out to the farm to see the animals.

This goat was the best. As soon as he saw us he got up from his comfy spot to lean against the fence for pettings. The girls were trepidatious at first but once they saw Momma scratching his ears they came right over :)

Dwarf cows, "little legs". Really low to the ground but gentle.

Ellie really wanted to feed them crackers.

The farm is right next to a little park so we seesawed and swung and climbed for a while. A good morning :)

Assorted cuteness

They've recently discovered the jewelry box and headbands and have been going to town - yep, they're girls!

Yea, she knows she's cute.

Avy's candid smile. It's better when she doesn't know I'm filming ;)

I know, I know, too many pictures. I just loved this little outfit on her, couldn't believe she put it together. She has better fashion sense than I do!

Spoiled in a wonderful way

A friend invited us to join them at a kid's museum this morning - her daughter and the girls are good friends so even though I didn't know what to expect from the setting, at least they'd have a companion. But, oh boy, this museum is just amazing:

There were air vents that you could start with the push of a button and then toss balls and scarves into the slipstream to watch them hover. This was basically magic!

There was an actual tractor trailer hub parked in the museum that kids could climb into and "drive" - we got there early so there was no competition; Ellie especially was ready for a road trip.

Water play! 1/3 of the museum was dedicated to various types of water play, with full length bibs for the kids and a floor that welcomed splashes - this became the favorite.

There was lots more we didn't even touch but it was snack and nap time. We ate lunch then stopped for french fries on the way home. We're currently contracting with a maid service since I'm too big to do much bending over; our maid (Olga) and the girls love each other, and she'd brought them a cake. Lucky girls :)

After cake and french fries (healthy!), they followed Olga around a bit, she rolled the ball with them for a few minutes, and then they crashed for a nap. I want to be a 2 year old :)
