Ramps are now a thing - we talked about inclined planes and watched videos explaining why they work. Lily's building her own here.
A boy and his dog.
This is empathy training, courtesy of our family therapist. While I'm fixing dinner the kids each take a turn at building a design with colored tiles while the others watch and mimic. It also has been good with spatial awareness (for the littles especially).
I got so tickled by this - see that piece of paper? Ellie diagrammed out how she wanted her ramp to look, then built it.
Also Ellie: "Mom, Mom! What's that symbol called? It's like fractions..." Oh. A percent sign. And where, you may ask, did this child learn about percentages? From her laptop's battery display. She understands it too: "Mom! Half of the pillows are off the couch! 50% of the cushions are still on there!"
