Day 5: Beaver, UT to Las Vegas, NV

Beaver Utah was a lovely one-stop little town. Definitely the quietest camp we've encountered so far. It got cold, 39 degrees when I finally got up, so everyone was bundled up and we had the heater running for the last few hours. It finally felt like camping!

Ellie slowly waking up.

Avy is still enjoying her warm bed.

Ellie is a happy waker.

Aaaand there's the mischief ;)

Lily is helping Ellie get up.

And Avy is "snuggling" Theo.

On our way out we stopped by the Dairy Farmer's Association - a little shop right outside of camp that made their own dairy products. We bought jalepeno cheese curds, a sampler of their various cheeses, and some of the richest ice cream I've ever tasted. We sampled licorice and german chocolate cake, and got a scoop of banana nut, chocolate, and huckleberry each. Then we sat outside and passed them around so everyone got some of each. Huckleberry was the pronounced favorite, but it was definitely close.

Babies thought ice cream was too cold, and "what's wrong with you people" faces ensued.

Then we got started on our trip to Las Vegas. There was some gorgeous stark scenery:

Then Dave quizzed me in mild panic, "Why are we in Arizona?" Gooooood question! Turns out we just clipped the corner of Arizona, we were in it for less than an hour.

But it sure was gorgeous!

The strip! I think. I've never actually been but it sure had a lot of big hotels! Also, HOT. It was 103 when we got there - that was a new experience! We got to learn that if you leave your RV's water hose in the sun (instead of under the RV), you will have boiling water at all times!

Uncle Ben was up visiting Maureen so he came over to hang out with us (Maureen was in the middle of a 12 hour shift :(

Lily thinks he might be ok.

Theo isn't sure yet.

Pool! We got to Vegas early, and it was so hot that we took advantage of the RV park's pool. This worked great for everyone except Theo, who wasn't a big fan (oddly, since he loves his bath).

Momma and Daddy took turns holding him in the shade. He was pretty content as long as he was away from the water, but if the girls splashed him at all, travesty!

All three girls loved the water though, and Uncle Ben made a great water buddy.

Delicious sun screen.

After the pool we all trooped back to the RV and had a dinner of bean and cheese burritos, avocados, salsa and chips, and watermelon. Delicious!

Lily snuck into the front. Don't take us on a detour kiddo!

Ok, Theo agrees Uncle Ben is cool.

And Lily has just adopted him.
